Similar to 100 Women Women Who and 100 Men Who Care groups, 100 Kids North Grenville aims to give kids the opportunity to give back to their community.
By nominating, presenting and contributing to the selected charity at each quarterly meeting, kids will be empowered to make decisions that directly
affect people in their neighbourhoods.
Why should my child participate?
At 100 Kids North Grenville meetings, kids will have the opportunity to:
Make new friends; strengthen existing friendships;
Learn about local charitable organizations in your area;
Be inspired to use their time, money and talent to make a difference in their community;
Participate in an impactful, democratic process; and
Practice public speaking.
How does it work?
Children and youth from all over the municipality will gather 4 times a year, each bringing $10 of their own spending money.
All children and youth are welcome to nominate a charity of their choice for an upcoming meeting. If selected, the child or youth who nominated the charity will be required to give a 3-5 minute presentation to the gathered group from 100 Kids North Grenville. After the presentations on the three different charities or non-profit organizations, all children and youth present will vote on the organization of their choice. The charity with the most votes gets the donations received on that evening.
You are making the following commitment to 100 Kids North Grenville as a member. Your donation will be given directly to charities and non-profits.
You agree to fulfill your donation commitment even if you did not vote for the organization selected by the majority. You will do your best to attend the meetings regularly and take part in the democratic process.
Is my child eligible?
Participating children must be between the ages of 6 and 16, and live in the North Grenville region. Younger siblings are welcome to come watch the meetings.
